Vintage Audition 1960's MIJ Electric w/ 3 Teisco Gold Foil PickupsAudition
This is a vintage, made in Japan Audition electric from the 1960's. Talk about you funky, retro cool, garage rock trash vibe? I got your noise maker right here, pal! Weighing in at a feathery 5 lb. 14 oz., this Audition is surprisingly well built using top notch materials. This one appears to have a maple neck, slab mahogany body and a rosewood fingerboard. The neck on this guitar borders on massive and it has a medium height action that plays well with frets that are still in good condition. The Gold Foil pickups are the obvious stars of the show and have all the tone that their legend suggests. They're big, beefy and fat sounding but still biting and cutting with some shimmery jangle. They come close to being able to do it all. The aged wood is surely a willing contributor to the tone as is has a dry, compressed midrange honk to it. The overall condition is as you would expect from a vintage piece. There are the assorted dings, chips, impressions and scratches all over but, as a whole, this guitar is still a real looker! The pickups are worth more than the asking price alone. This is affordable vintage!
