Cort Flying V 1980s Tobacco BurstCort
This Cort Flying V was made with one thing in mind: heavy-hitting, face-melting, hard rock & roll. Weighing in at a sturdy 8.6 lbs this tobacco burst V sports a 24 ¾ inch scale, bolt on neck, and strat-style tremolo system. This Particular Cort was built sometime in the mid-late 80s, and bears striking resemblance to the original Flying Vs released by Gibson beginning in the late 1950s. Our luthier set this guitar up with a medium low action and 10 guage strings. Bending is a dream on this guitar, and the neck is smooth and comfy.
For a guitar designed for Rock, this V has a surprisingly buttery clean tone. The neck pickup in particular is round and warm when played clean, and opens up into a smooth creamy overdrive when pushed a little harder. The bridge pickup is thick and meaty, present but not overly bright or brittle. If you’re looking for a hard rocking guitar with plenty of 1980s mojo, this Cort Flying V is the axe you’ve been looking for.
