Epiphone Les Paul Standard Honey BurstEpiphone
Here's Epiphone's take on a timeless classic minus the enormous price tag. This Epiphone Les Paul Standard was manufactured in China in 2007 and is finished in a gorgeous honey sunburst, a color that's only available on a Plus Top these days. Personally, I've always appreciated and preferred the understated, business-like appeal of a plain top, anyway. The build materials are standard Les Paul fare, i.e., a mahogany neck and back, a maple top, rosewood fingerboard and a pair of Alnico humbuckers. This particular example is feather light at 7 lb. 12 oz. Try finding that in a Gibson!! The slim taper "C" profile neck is fast and easy to navigate, the action low and pliable to facilitate effortless bends and pull-offs. This is a nice, resonant guitar that's very sweet sounding and heavy in the mids. Running it wide open through a Marshall, it gets killer "Cream" era Clapton tone in spades. This Les Paul is very clean and shows minimal play or fret wear. This is a very nice deal on a rippin' guitar in a hot color!
