Fender American Vintage 1964 Telecaster RIFender
Up for sale today is a 2014 Fender American Vintage 1964 Telecaster reissue in limited edition Fiesta Red. These are super rare and not many were made. The construction features include an alder body, maple neck, super dark rosewood fingerboard, 7 1/4" radius and vintage sized frets. There's a bit of play wear on this guitar. The finish on the back of the neck has been smooth out and played in. It's very comfortable and feels great! There's some surface impressions, edge chipping and dings. The nitrocellulose lacquer is perilously thin on these guitars. This guitar has had a few upgrades. The bridge has been changed out to a double cut Glendale unit with a set of their compensated saddles, a pair of brass and a steel saddle of the E/A strings. The pickguard is mint green replacement unit. The bridge pickup has also been upgraded to a Florance Voodoo TE-59. The neck pickup is the original '64 RI model. THE ORIGINAL PARTS ARE NOT INCLUDED. The guitar includes the brown / gold G&G hard shell case, hang tags, owner's manual, case key, ash tray cover, etc. No strap or cable. Very lightweight guitar at 7.1 lbs. Tonally, this baby is smooth and full for a Telecaster. The bridge pickup is deep and twangy, no harsh or abrasive high end. It's a very dynamic pickup. The in-between setting is very jangly and chimey, great for funk or Motown sounds. The neck pickup is one of the best that I've heard. It's very full, fat and smooth with very bell like highs and just enough power to cut through live. This is a professional quality instrument.
