Fender American Vintage 1965 StratocasterFender
Here's one that you don't see too often, an American Vintage '65 Stratocaster finished in rare Dakota Red. This one has seen it's fair share of late night gigs and bar room brawls. The good ones always get played and this one surely did. Weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 ozs., this guitar is exceptional sounding with loud, thick sounding pickups. It has plenty of beef and fullness to the tone yet still manages to have a bit of that trademark 1960's "scooped mid" tone. This Strat still possesses a fair amount of chime and bell-like delicacy, just enough to keep it sounding "Stratty". The mid 60's "C" shape neck profile is full without feeling cumbersome and playability and responsiveness are exceptional. There are a fair amount of dings, chips and light scratches on the body, primarily around the radius. The nitrocellulose lacquer on these guitars is incredibly thin. Surprisingly, the fret wear on this guitar is minimal. This one includes the original black / orange hard shell case that has a few scuffs and scratches. Hey! A lot of people pay Fender extra for this aging!
