Fender Coronado I 1966 Red with HSCFender
This 1966 all-original Fender Coronado I is an absolute gem. Serial number 217064. First year these were introduced to the market in an effort for Fender to dip into the hollowbody market dominated by Gibson and Gretsch. This is a candy apple red model with "Special" stamped into the back of the headstock below the tuners - most likely indicating it was produced for someone significant in the industry. It features a full hollow-body maple construction with a 25.5" bolt-on neck topped with a rosewood fretboard and rosewood bridge and is accompianed with the original "F" marked trapeze tailpiece. The single coil Dearmond pickup sounds articulate and snappy, capable of some great tones when the volume and tone are manipulated. Buttery slim neck with comfortable frets, fairly flat but not beat. In very good shape cosmetically with a few scrapes/dings (see photos) and standard checking on the neck/back of the headstock. Price includes what looks to be the original hardshell case, or at least period correct. Call for more details!
