Fender Jag-Stang 1996 Made In JapanBirdhouse Music
The Jag-Stang is a modern Fender classic. Originally designed by Kurt Cobain, the Jag-Stang is hybrid of a Fender Mustang and Jaguar (originally imagined by joining together spliced photos of both vintage Fender guitars) and sports a short 24" scale length maple neck, curved veneer rosewood fingerboard, a neck position Stratocaster single coil, a bridge humbucker and the Mustang's Dynamic Vibrato bridge. Employing individual on/off and phase switches, a myriad of pickup combinations and tones are possible. This baby has a fast, slim oval "C" profile neck and very low, light string action for easy, effortless playability. At 7 lb. 2 oz. this Jag-Stang is feather light on a strap and with it's high output pickups, it's a loud, crunchy hard rock beast. There are a few small dimples, dings and impressions but, on the whole, presents very well for 23 year old guitar. Here's a chance to grab one of the original MIJ manufactured Jag-Stangs that are fast becoming collector's items.
