For sale is a great short scale vintage bass from Fender. This is the Musicmaster model, a stripped down and budget friendly Mustang bass with a 30 inch scale length and a single six-pole guitar pickup. These small and simple basses have found their way into the hands of many of rock and roll's anti-heroes, such as Jim O'Rourke and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Dee Dee Ramone of The Ramones, and Alex Bleeker of Real Estate to name a few. Tonally this bass is pretty tame, with a roundish sound and fairly low output pickups that make is creamy and subdued in a sweet way. This also has a great set of flatwounds that aid in subduing the tone, and would probably have a bit more pop and luster with some normal roundwounds. Cosmetically this instrument is in great shape, with some subtle signs of wear and tear but not much to note. Included with this is an old chipboard style case. This is an awesome short scale bass with incredible aesthetic and a great tone, all at a nice low price for such a stellar vintage piece.
