Fender Stratocaster 1979 Hardtail Made in USA BlackFender
The Fender Custom Shop wishes that they could make a modern guitar that looks and sounds like this one! There's no faux relicing here, that's for sure. This baby's earned her battle scars the hard way; by gigging! This one was born in 1979 and is built with a dense ash body for maximum girth and sustain and a maple neck that's a thick, round "U" profile. Despite these attributes, the weight is still light for this time period at 7 lb. 14 oz. There are tons of chips, dings, scratches, impressions, finish flaking, etc. The finish shows heavy, heavy checking and crackling. The bridge is a period Fender brass replacement and the tuners and jack plate are also replacements. One of the pots has been changed, as well. The frets are on the low side but the guitar still plays well. The action is low and slick and the string action is slinky. This is a STELLAR sounding Strat! It's chimey, sweet and funky but don't let those adjectives trick you into thinking it's thin sounding. It's not. It's got plenty of midrange thickness to keep it from suffering from Strat-it is (i.e. wafer thin tone). This one comes with it's original hard case. Way more tone and mojo than you can buy in any modern Fender.
