Gibson Gospel Acoustic Guitar 1973-75 with CaseGibson
Here's a vintage Gibson Gospel acoustic guitar manufactured somewhere between 1973 and 1975. According to the "Union Made" label affixed inside the body, this particular guitar was made at the original Kalamazoo, MI factory. This is such a beautiful and vibey instrument, I almost can't stand it! It has a such a smooth, warm tone! The treble response is very sweet and pleasing. Acoustically, it has good volume and projection and tonally is has wonderful depth and character with a resonant, smokey voice. Total weight is a stout 5 lbs. 2 ozs. Construction features include a spruce top, arched maple back, maple sides and a three piece flamed maple neck with a medium "C" profile. Unfortunately, she's also seen some hard miles in her time on this planet. There's some deterioration to the binding with one piece missing from the lower bout. That piece is inside the guitar case to be used in repair. The tortoise pickguard is also starting to deform and is lifting and pulling away from the top. The action is on the higher side although the top doesn't appear to be warped. The bridge also looks to have been replaced. The frets, however, are still in good shape and show minimal wear. This Gospel includes the original hard shell case. Due to the issues, this guitar is being SOLD AS-IS. She's an old soul that's deserving of some love to bring her back to her former glory.
