Gibson J50 Deluxe 1973-75Gibson
As most of you may already know, a J-50 is merely a J-45 with a natural finish. Of course, that's a good thing because, as we all know, Gibson's timeless dreadnought is a crazy tone machine. This guitar has the serial number (A500435) and the "Made In USA" logo embossed into the back of the headstock along with the orange "Union Made" logo inside the body, putting the manufacturing time frame between 1973-1975. This one is also labeled as a factory 2nd. This also has the same, time honored tone woods as a J-45 meaning a mahogany neck, back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge and a spruce top. The good stuff! This one has some mileage on it. There are lots of small impressions, dimples, dings, chips, etc. There's some deterioration and crumbling to the binding and there's a few repaired / cleated top cracks as well. There's a small amount of finish checking. It plays pretty well up and down the neck. It's a nice, tight sounding guitar that's clear and present. The tone really rewards good technique! Nice, USA built vintage acoustics with great woods are becoming extinct, especially those in this price range.
