Some of the greatest creations ever come from the year 1972. The first hand held calculator, the Atari video game and, of course, yours truly. Joining those examples in the upper echelon of early 1970's super swagger is this Guild F30 NT. Bearing serial number 50402, this baby is built with only the best; Solid mahogany neck, back and sides, a solid spruce top and a rosewood bridge and fingerboard. A classic time honored acoustic tone recipe! This F30 is vibe-y and mojo laden meaning this baby has it's share of battle scars. Chips, dings, impressions, scratches and pick marks abound. The rear strap button is gone. Why is anyone's guess. Tuners have also been swapped out for Schallers. Bad if you're a collector, great if you're a player. This one is light weight as far as Guilds go at 4 lb. 6 oz. It still has that typical built-like-a-tank feeling that Guilds are famous for. This guitar is a real cannon! A loud, powerful, bull horn of a guitar. Tons of midrange presence is what this guitar is all about. The medium "C" shape neck feels great and the action is still at a reasonable height for both fingerpicking and aggressive strumming. It's tough to beat a vintage Guild for tone and vibe and this F30 is no exception.
