Hohner Professional SE-35 335 Style ElectricHohner
And you thought Hohner only made harmonicas and kazoos! Surprise! This SE-35 Professional is a high quality, low cost homage to a late 1950's ES-335. The amber tinted blonde finish and full sized flat oval "C" neck are very reminiscent of the big "G"'s '59 model ES. The biggest difference is that this one won't set you back 3500 clams. The maple ply body, rosewood fingerboard, tune-o-matic style bridge, dual humbuckers and Kluson replica tuners are other visual similarities to Gibson's "Golder Era" semi hollow. Where the Hohner differs from the original design is its use of a maple neck rather than mahogany. Don't let the use of all that maple fool you into thinking this guitar is tight and bright. This SE-35 has a thick, woody tone that has a chewy, pliable treble response. This Hohner is in good condition showing only light play wear. There's some pick marks and light finish swirling to go along with some very light fret wear. If you're looking to get your B.B. King thang going and a run-of-the-mill Epiphone DOT isn't cutting it, give this Hohner SE-35 a try.
