Kalamazoo KG-10 1953 Acoustic GuitarKalamazoo
If your bag is rich, smokey acoustic blues tone, look no further. This 1953 Kalamazoo KG-10 has that "dry-as-a-bone" wood tone that's indicative of an acoustic that's been played hard and loved harder. Pick a note and feel it in your gut, that's how you know it's been truly appreciated. Kalamazoo guitars were considered a budget line for Gibson but it's construction and materials are anything but "budget" as this guitar leaves nothing to be desired. Consisting of a mahogany neck, back, sides and top, a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, this KG-11 received the same top quality materials as Gibson guitars of the day. The neck is a thick "U" profile with frets that show some light wear and of which there is still plenty of material left. Weighing in at 3 lb. 4 oz., this particular Kalamazoo is still in good overall condition. There are some dings, chips, scratches and impressions but, hey, it's over 60 years old. If you want shiny, we have plenty of new guitars for sale, too. Still, if you like your mojo heavy and your tone filthy, this KG-10 has more than enough of both to satisfy.
