Kalamazoo KG-31 with original caseKalamazoo
Originally manufactured by Gibson to represent their budget line of guitars, this 1930's era Kalamazoo is, nevertheless, built to the highest quality standards. Constructed with a mahogany neck, back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge and a spruce top with "X" bracing, this KG-31 is a perfect example of the level of quality and craftsmanship associated with vintage Gibson built instruments. This 16" acoustic archtop is bright, clear and percussive but still tonally rich enough to keep single notes smooth and dense. Weighing in at 3 lb. 14 oz., this KG-31 has a large "V"profile neck that plays comfortably with a medium action. There is plenty of fret material as it appears the frets may have been replaced at some point. There are several dings, chips, impressions, scratches and pick marks. There are what appear to be a couple of repaired cracks on the back. This gem will include it's original chipboard alligator case. Super cool!
