Martin D17 Dreadnought Mahogany c. 2001birdhousemusic
Stripped down and purpose built, this Martin D-17 is all business! Built in 2001 to the highest standards, this baby is a real workhorse. It's very full sounding with rich overtones and sweet, smooth high end character. It has a clear enough response to be able to cut when needed, but, the attack is relaxed enough to make it easy to play and not fatiguing to the ear. The warm, smooth tone is due in no small part to the mahogany neck, back, sides and top. The shallow, oval neck profile falls nicely into the hand and makes this guitar a breeze to play. The tortoise shell pickguard and binding add a bit of class and flair. It's in good condition overall for an instrument approaching 20 years old. There are small impressions, dimples and small dings. There are no cracks, breaks or major wear. Just honest to goodness play wear. Skip the faux mahogany and satin finish on a new Martin and get yourself a true Martin acoustic.
