For what started out life as a budget, entry level guitar, these old Silvertones have sure taken on quite the following of devoted fans. This vintage Silvertone 604 was manufactured in the 1960's by Harmony and sold through Sears stores under the Silvertone brand name. This guitar owns the quintessential fat, smokey tone that's just perfect for finger picked Robert Johnson style country or slide blues. She has a big, fat round neck profile that just begs to be played. The overall condition for it's age is pretty good but the action is getting high as you get to the upper registers of the neck. It this point in it's life, it's probably better suited for slide work but oh the tone it gets! Get that vintage tone for not much more than a new Gretsch Jim Dandy.
