Squier 51 Original RunSquier
This guitar is one of the original run of Squier 51's, built in 2005. This model has built up quite the cult following over the years and for a very good reason, they're super cool! Combining a maple Telecaster neck, a basswood Stratocaster body, a P-Bass pickguard and control assembly, a Strat style neck pickup and a bridge humbucker, it looks as cool as it sounds. This particular example weighs in at a light 7 lb. 6 oz. and is finished in a vintage, retro 1950's style sunburst. This '51 has seen some play time as there's a moderate amount of play wear. There's a very light amount of fret wear to go along with an assortment of dings, chips and impressions. There's a fairly large chip on the upper bout of the body (see photo). This is a loud, aggressive sounding guitar that's crunchy and biting. It's perfect for a raunchy, low tech garage rock or punk type tone. Strangely, these early Squier 51s are becoming collector's items. Yes, it's a strange world that we live in.
