Tokai Talbo Electric Guitar MIJBirdhouse Music
At first glance, you might mistake the Tokai Talbo as some sort of 1980's reject shredder axe. With the pointy headstock, dual teardrop shaped body and H-S-S pickup configuration, it would be easy to make that assumption. To label it as such would be a huge mistake as it's so much more. The Talbo (an acronym for Tokai Aluminum Body) was cutting edge guitar technology for its era. The dual cutaway, sculpted body is constructed of chambered AC-4B aluminum alloy and the maple and rosewood neck is a medium, wide / flat "C" profile built for uncompromised speed. It's much lighter than you'd expect a metal bodied guitar to be at 8 lb. 10 oz. It also sounds WAY better than you'd expect from a guitar made out of the same material as race car engines. The tone is clear and present yet still very full sounding. It's very dynamic and toneful without ever sounding "tinny". This one is in pretty good overall condition. There are a few deep scratches and some flaking and chipping in the finish. The frets show a bit of wear but nothing too serious. When you're looking for something a bit different, this Tokai is a serious, slick, professional quality instrument.
